2022 is a big year for Disney World in Florida, who are celebrating their incredible 50th anniversary. For all the Disney fans, young and old, there are some exciting changes to the resort, with brand new rides and attractions. In October, Disney World is also hosting a three month festival to celebrate their big milestone, and there has never been a better time to visit with your little one. Going on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation to Disney World is one of the joys of being a Dad, and a wonderful way of making memories together.
New Hotel Experience
If you’re planning on spending several days, or even weeks at Disney World, staying in a Disney-themed hotel means that you will be nearer the attractions, so you can make the most of your time. You may even consider booking a Disney Vacation Club timeshare, so that you can come back every year. This could save you money in the long term and give you something to look forward to. This year at Disney World marks the opening of the new Galactic Cruiser. This is an incredible immersive hotel experience set in the Star Wars universe. While you are staying at the hotel, you can go on an excursion with the Star Wars characters, and spend some time with them training in the fine art of lightsabers. Each of the passenger cabins has a view into deep space, and you can dine in style in the Corellia Dining Room. Look out for Jabba the Hutt though.
Amazing New Rides
The resort being closed for periods of time over the past 18 months has given Disney the opportunity to build several new rindes, including Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This incredibly popular franchise has made the Disney Corporation more than $700 million, and has now been transformed into a breathtaking ride. It is a storytelling coaster in vehicles that rotate 360 degrees. Also new this year is the TRON rollercoaster, Lightcycle Power Run. This futuristic coaster is set to open during the 50th anniversary festival.
Heartwarming New Attractions
Along with new rides, there is a great revamp of Future World, which has been replaced by three separate and unique lands: World Discovery, World Nature and World Celebration. The World Discovery area brings science and technology to life, and includes an exciting space shuttle simulator. World Nature is dedicated to preserving the beauty of nature, and World Celebration pays homage to the magic of Disney itself. The iconic Splash Mountain at Disney World has been transformed into a Princess and the Frog attraction – great fun for the young Disney fans in your life. You can also take your children to see not only the regular Disney parade that runs every day from Frontierland, but also a magical night time parade, full of lights and excitement.
Taking your little one to Disney World is a wonderful vacation, and something that you will remember for the rest of your life. 2022 is an exciting year for the resort, with something new for Disney fans big and small.
