Mad Men

The show ran between 2007 and 2015 and centered around Donald Draper. Draper was the creative director at Sterling Copper in New York, and the show focuses on his and his ability to deal with a busy professional life and active personal life during the 1960s.

Jon Hamm plays the lead in the show, and he gained critical acclaim for his performances. The show was 16 Emmys and five Golden Globes. It is regarded as one of the very best television dramas of all-time.

Peaky Blinders

If you’re somebody that likes a gritty gang drama and have been looking for something to fill the void left by the Sopranos, then Peaky Blinders is the show for you.

The show has quickly gained a cult audience, with many fans already predicting big things for season six when it is released later in the year. The show follows a Birmingham gang led by the magnificent Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby.

The show follows his rise from lower-class army personal to a politician in Westminster.

However, as you can imagine life as a gangster is never that straightforward, which means there are a lot of obstacles that he needs to overcome. Murphy is joined by a host of famous faces, including Tom Hardy, Helen McCrory and Paul Anderson. It has gained a popular reputation because of its gritty scenes and brilliant writing.

Narcos

Fans that are engaged by true stories shouldn’t look past the Netflix smash-hit Narcos.

The show has run for five seasons in total, with the most recent season hitting the streaming site in February 2020. The show is now on its spin-off edition titled Narcos: Mexico, while the original three seasons were simply titled Narcos.

The first three seasons are centered around the drugs war in Colombia, with Pablo Escobar being the main protagonist in the first two seasons.

The third season showed the downfall of the biggest cartels that Colombia has seen.

The Mexican season has picked up right where the original ended but instead focuses on the life of Felix Gallardo and how he built his empire. The first season of the Mexican edition centers around the life and death of American DEA agent Kiki Camarena.
