Successful marriages are rarely storybook romances. Marriage in the real world can be tough, and must usually be guided by logic and practicality as opposed to emotion and desire.
However, this doesn’t mean that emotion and desire should completely go out the window. Unfortunately, all too often, that’s exactly what happens. And in many of these situations, it happens because the husband shows his love for his wife.
Are you stuck in a bit of a rut in your marriage? Not sure of how to show love to your wife? You can show your wife love by utilizing the following tips.
Show Your Wife You Love Her with These Tips
There are more than a few ways to show your wife you love her. However, we can’t cover them all. Therefore, we’re only going to give you 12.
They are as follows.
1. Show Her Affection on a Regular Basis
Nothing kills a marriage quicker than a lack of affection. Affection is the fuel needed to keep a romance burning. If it’s lost, the fire will become extinguished, and the passion will be thrown to the wayside.
It’s of utmost importance that you show your wife affection on a regular basis. It’s not enough to only take her on a date once a month. Marital affection needs to be continuous, and it needs to feel natural.
Tell her you love her. Kiss her when you wake up and before you go to sleep. Let her know that she’s on your mind and that she’s still the one you want to be with.
2. Cook Her a Nice Meal
As a man, there’s a good chance that you don’t cook often. And if you do, there’s a good chance that you’re just throwing frozen pizzas into the oven.
If this is not true of you, you can just disregard this tip. If it is true of you, you need to listen up.
The fact of the matter is that women love a man who can cook. Your wife is likely no exception to this. In fact, if you never cook, your wife probably wishes that you would.
This is why you should try cooking a nice meal for your wife. Make sure that it’s something she likes, and make sure to give it your all.
If it tastes great, she’ll be very impressed. If it tastes . . . less than great, she’ll still appreciate that you put in the effort. After all, cooking a meal for your wife shows her that you care about her.
3. Listen to What She Has to Say
While it’s not true of all men, it is true of many of them: men possess sub-par listening skills. It’s not necessarily their fault. In fact, much of it is biological.
Nonetheless, it always seems to create a chasm between men and the women in their lives. So, while you can’t be expected to change your poor listening habits overnight, you should be putting in some effort.
Make sure to actually listen to what your wife is saying. Make eye contact. Put down what you’re doing and let her finish her sentences.
And then, over time, prove that you have listened to her through your actions. She’ll appreciate that you’re trying.
4. Do the Dishes!
In many marriages, chores become a point of contention. After all, who wants to spend all of their free time doing things around the house?
While many men already help around the house on a frequent basis, others, unfortunately, do not. If you don’t help out with the daily household chores, you need to start.
You would be surprised at how excited your wife would get over you doing the dishes just once. The reason for this is simple: you’re showing her that you respect her and her time. You’re showing her that she’s not there to be your surrogate mother.
5. Surprise Her with a Date
Marriages can be grueling. The monotony of life can cause a marriage to become stale in a fairly short amount of time. This is why you need to break the monotony up with a little fun every once in a while.

For instance, maybe your wife goes to the gym religiously? You don’t need to go to the gym with her every time she goes, but once or twice a week could help strengthen the bond between the two of you.
The most important thing is that you’re showing some sort of interest in the things that she’s interested in.
7. Express Yourself
Not only do men tend to have trouble listening to their wives, but they also tend to have trouble expressing themselves to their wives. It’s no real secret that men can be emotionally distant.
A great way to show your wife that you love her is by opening up every once in a while and telling her what’s really on your mind. You don’t have to be an absolute open book, but you should be able to express general feelings of sadness, depression, and happiness.
