The 6 Biggest Tips on How to Choose the Right Generic Male Enhancement Pill

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition in which you’re unable to keep or get an erection, and depending on the cause of this condition, ED can be a long or short-term problem. However, ED is quite common and affects 30 million men in the US, meaning it’s a widespread issue.

If you’ve considered using a male enhancement pill to alleviate your ED, you’ve likely noticed there are several kinds available. This article will help you choose the best one for your needs.

Tip #1: Consider Heart Disease Risk

We know you want to start comparing tadalafil vs. sildenafil or your vardenafils to your avanafils, but don’t start taking any ED medication before speaking to your doctor. Erectile dysfunction isn’t a side-effect of getting old; it’s an indication of poor physical or mental health.

You may have coronary heart disease-related plaques blocking blood flow to your penis. It’s safer to get the go-ahead from your doctor before taking medication that could be masking a more severe problem. ED pills don’t “fix” the problem, but they’re a great immediate solution.

Tip #2: Consider ED Pill Costs

The cost of your erectile dysfunction drug therapy ranges depending on your level of health plan coverage, prescription co-pays, and pharmacy price. In general, generic ED pill brands are less expensive than known brand names like Viagra, which can be bought under the name sildenafil.

Most ED medication can be bought online with a prescription for a fraction of the costs. However, you can also ask your doctor about pill splitting and manufacturer discount programs.

Tip #3: Consider Efficiency

A study done by Harvard found that ED pills produce an erection “sufficient for intercourse” in 70% of men tested. A 50-100 milligram dose of sildenafil seems to be the most effective treatment, while a 50-200 milligram dose of avanafil seems to be the least effective.

That doesn’t mean erectile dysfunction pills won’t work for you if you don’t see any change with sildenafil. You may need to increase your dose, try another drug, or do another ED treatment.

Tip #4: Consider Onset

On average, most ED medication will start working after 15-60 minutes. Avanafil has the quickest onset (15-30 minutes), while sildenafil and vardenafil take the longest (30-60 minutes). Sildenafil and vardenafil won’t work if you take them after a meal, but avanafil and tadalafil will.

Always remember that ED medication isn’t an on/off switch. ED pills will only work if the user is sexually aroused. The sooner arousal occurs, the faster the drug will absorb into your system.

Tip #5: Consider Duration

When you take an ED pill, you aren’t supposed to have a prolonged erection after intercourse. However, the pill will continue to work as long as it remains in your system. Sildenafil and vardenafil last for 4-5 hours, avanafil lasts for 6-12 hours, and tadalafil lasts for 24-36 hours.

Some ED medications have a continuous duration, like tadalafil daily. However, even the lowest duration periods will give the user enough time to complete their full cycle of intercourse.

Tip #6: Consider Side-Effects

The most common side effects of erectile dysfunction drugs are flushing, headaches, vision problems, upset stomach, diarrhea, nasal congestion, rashes, and dizziness. If a man has an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours, they need to head to the hospital immediately.

No ED drug should be taken with nitrates (cardiac drugs) or alpha-blockers, as a sudden drop in blood pressure could occur. Although avanafil is the least effective of all ED pills, it’s associated with the least amount of side effects, while those on vardenafil commonly experience the most.
