Tips to Start Enjoying the Cooking Process

Do you find cooking to be a stressful process? Many people dislike cooking, which is often because they do not know how to cook properly and find it more of a chore that they have to fit into their schedule. It does not have to be like this, though, as many people find that learning to cook properly can turn this into an enjoyable activity and a chance to be creative. So, how can you start enjoying the cooking process?

Copy Restaurant Favourites

Many people do not enjoy cooking because of the food that they are making. Think about what some of your favorite dishes are from your favourite restaurants and then look online to try and find a recipe. While it may not come out exactly the same, you are sure to enjoy cooking this more than the regular dishes that you are bored of making.

Cook Food You Enjoy

Following this, you should also focus on cooking food that you enjoy. A meal should always be pleasurable, so focus on food that you like and want to eat to make the process more enjoyable.

Invest In Good Kitchen Equipment

It is hard to enjoy cooking if you are using kitchen equipment that is cheap, worn and damaged. This is why investing in good kitchen equipment can be a real game-changer, so it is worth splashing out on new frying pans, pots, knives and chopping boards. This should make the process easier as well as improve the quality of your meals.

Get Inspired

Cooking can be a lot more enjoyable when you feel inspired by watching cooking shows or looking online for recipes (places like Pinterest and YouTube are goldmines). A Circulon survey found that 43% of survey respondents watched cooking shows for inspiration and this can be a great way to learn to cook to a high standard and to find new recipes to try.

Invite a Friend Over

You can also make cooking a more enjoyable activity by cooking for others, which is why inviting a friend over for dinner is a good idea and can put your new skills to the test. The previously mentioned research also revealed that “a good cook won’t shy away from cooking in front of guests with a preference for homemade sauces, condiments and gravies”.

Play Some Music

You can also make the process of cooking more enjoyable by playing some music, pouring yourself a drink and turning it into an enjoyable activity. This can make cooking an enjoyable part of the day instead of a stressful chore and make a big difference to your daily routine.

Hopefully, the advice in this post will make cooking a more enjoyable process for you. Many people find cooking to be stressful and see it as a chore, but this can change when you find ways to make it more enjoyable.
