A college essay can be the difference between getting into your dream school and having to settle for another year of hard work in high school. It doesn’t have to be this way, though, if you take the time to write a standout college essay that will make an impression on your admissions officer. Use these seven college essay writing tips to write essay for me.

1) Have a plan before you start

Make sure you know what your essay is about before you begin writing. This may seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many students start their essays without knowing exactly what they’re going to say. If you can’t think of an interesting way to answer that question—or any other question for that matter—then maybe it’s not one you should be answering. You want to make sure that whatever you write is well thought out and makes sense. Don’t just wing it!

2) Write About your Passion

I get it. Your college application essay can be scary. To be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of writing essays—especially long ones, like those for college applications or graduate school. They force you to think deeply about who you are and what you want out of life, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. But don’t worry! It doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, if you focus on your passion instead of your fears, writing an essay becomes much easier. And in my experience, there is no better way to do that than by telling a story that reflects your passions and personality.

3) Start With the Right Prompt

It’s important to write about something you are passionate about or a situation that has changed your life. By starting with a topic that is close to your heart, you are less likely to procrastinate and more likely to approach your essay with confidence. Don’t be afraid to start writing before you have all of your ideas fleshed out—you can always go back and edit if necessary. If you get stuck, try asking yourself questions like: What was my favorite part of high school? What was my favorite summer job? What do I want people to know about me?

4) Think about what makes you different from other applicants

When you’re writing your college essay, don’t just talk about what matters to you in your life right now. Think about who you are and what makes you unique. Asking yourself questions like What in my background has shaped me into who I am today? can help you focus on finding your true voice as an applicant and ensuring that all of your activities have contributed to your growth. Other applicants might pay for an essay, but doing it yourself is amazing; that makes you different.

5) Don’t be afraid to ask for help

You have plenty of time to craft a college essay. In fact, you should take your time and make sure that you’re happy with every aspect of your essay before sending it in. If you find yourself needing help along the way, don’t be afraid to ask for it. You may not be able to completely write your essay on your own. Having a friend or family member proofread can also be an excellent tool for assuring that there are no errors in grammar or spelling.

6) Narrow down your topics of interest

Before you get to writing, it’s important to figure out what topic or topics you want to tackle. You can spend hours brainstorming ideas and selecting the perfect subject only to realize once you start writing that it’s a lot more complicated than you expected. If you choose a topic that is too broad or if you aren’t passionate about it, your essay will likely suffer. Narrow down your focus so that you know exactly what you are going to write about and why. This will help guide your writing and ensure that it flows naturally from beginning to end. Professional essay writers can also help you do this.
